Responsibilities: • Generate oil and gas prospects • Provide geological and economic evaluation for all Company properties and prospects • Evaluate oil and gas prospects submitted to the Company by third parties • Analyze well proposals, recompletion and plugging proposals and AFEs for outside operated properties and make recommendations • Generate structural isopach maps and cross-sections • Identify and evaluate opportunities for increased or accelerated recovery • Work with internal teams of drilling, reservoir and land people to bring new wells into production or further develop existing producing properties • Work on A&D team to evaluate properties for purchase or divestiture • Make recommendations concerning well disposition or need for further evaluation Experience: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology • 5 or more years experience in oil and gas geology with an emphasis on prospect generation and analysis • Experience with acquisitions and divestitures • Experience with PHDWin, Drilling Info, Neurasection, Adobe Illustrator, etc. a plus Behaviors: • Self-motivated, a self-starter • High energy person • Resourceful and creative • Capable of multi-tasking and meeting deadlines • Detail-oriented and organized • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong theoretical background with the ability to apply practical, hands on reservoir solutions • Flexibility: We are fast-paced, so we need someone who is amenable to change • Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done correctly • Ability to work with professionals as well as field personnel • Above average computer skills • Ability to work in a team environment both as project leader and team member • Proven ability to positively impact your company’s bottom line Education: • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in geology with 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in the oil and gas industry.
